Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Delmar Kramer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Smithsgaurd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Delmar Kramer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thomas Smithsgaurd!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Ben Hemmingworth and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smithsgaurd gets a takedown into half guard.
Smithsgaurd missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Kramer wants to improve his position but Smithsgaurd is controlling well.
Smithsgaurd is keen to just control but Kramer is a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kramer has his hands clasped together around Smithsgaurd's back. He's all about the action.

Kramer looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Smithsgaurd is looking for a kimura but Kramer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smithsgaurd to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smithsgaurd seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kramer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kramer shoots in but no luck this time.
Smithsgaurd steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Kramer.

Smithsgaurd has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The referee calls for Smithsgaurd to work.

Kramer drags the fight down to the ground.
Kramer is trying to keep Smithsgaurd in close.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smithsgaurd has gone for a leg lock! Kramer slips out almost immediately though and dives into Smithsgaurd's guard.

Smithsgaurd is trying to hold Kramer in close to prevent damage but Kramer has managed to pass into half guard.

Kramer tries to stand but can't do so whilst Smithsgaurd controls his leg.
Smithsgaurd wants to sweep but Kramer has passed to side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nice sprawl there from Kramer as Smithsgaurd shoots in.
Kramer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Smithsgaurd sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Smithsgaurd displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kramer.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Delmar Kramer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kramer throws a series of punches but Smithsgaurd moves out of range.
Kramer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smithsgaurd pinned against the cage. Smithsgaurd gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A nice side step and Smithsgaurd releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Kramer is breathing heavily.

Smithsgaurd shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kramer napping and manages to drive through into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Delmar Kramer will probably get the nod.
That's time! Kramer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Smithsgaurd closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Smithsgaurd wants to stand up but Kramer manages to regain full guard.
Kramer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Smithsgaurd might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kramer haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Kramer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smithsgaurd has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kramer has managed to get both his arms back between Smithsgaurd's legs - danger averted.
Kramer stands and throws Smithsgaurd's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Smithsgaurd is trying to get back to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smithsgaurd can do anything to dispel that myth.
Smithsgaurd tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kramer presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Smithsgaurd wants to hold on but Kramer pushes him away.
Smithsgaurd tries to improve his position but instead Kramer has taken his back!

Kramer is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Smithsgaurd has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Smithsgaurd staying busy and making it hard for Kramer to control.
Kramer has the hooks in. Smithsgaurd is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Kramer is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Smithsgaurd is trying to break free.
Kramer is looking to control Smithsgaurd but Smithsgaurd is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Despite the aggression on Smithsgaurd's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Smithsgaurd tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kramer's elbow.

Kramer controls Smithsgaurd momentarily but Smithsgaurd frees himself.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kramer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
