Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Arshavin Lu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lu shoots in and drives through. Barnett sprawls well.
Barnett lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Lu scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Barnett stuffs the takedown.
Barnett swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barnett tries to clinch up but Lu circles away and keeps his distance.
Barnett digs a good hook to Lu's body.
Barnett throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Barnett is looking to score with low kicks.
Barnett lands a jab-cross combination.
Lu shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Barnett as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arshavin Lu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lu moves out of range of the leg kick from Barnett.
Lu really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lu has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lu there as he acknowledges the shot.

Barnett pushes Lu up against the cage in a clinch.
Lu drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Barnett gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Lu tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lu is trying to drag Barnett to the mat but Barnett just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Lu turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lu manages to end up in side control.
Lu is looking to take a break and control but Barnett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Barnett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Barnett is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Barnett manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Barnett lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Lu tries to lock up and control but Barnett gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Barnett stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Barnett drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Lu trying to keep a closed guard but Barnett is proving a slippery customer.
Lu wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Barnett is now in half guard.

Barnett seems to be working for a kimura but Lu defends the submission attempt.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Barnett has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Lu defend it? Barnett steps over the head and cranks it - Lu is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Barnett!
