Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Howister Overeem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Alessio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Howister Overeem!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Alessio!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alessio drives through with a takedown into guard.

Alessio thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Overeem working for a triangle but Alessio defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alessio stands up and waves to Overeem to follow him.
Overeem moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Alessio's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Overeem connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Alessio scrambles back to his feet.
Alessio shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Alessio fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Overeem, pushing him back against the cage.

Alessio breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Overeem connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Alessio momentarily.
Overeem lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Alessio feints and as Overeem raises his hands in defense, Alessio changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Overeem isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Alessio stacks Overeem on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Alessio!

Alessio has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Alessio perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Alessio is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Overeem doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Alessio.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Alessio is nestled in close to Overeem, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Alessio connects with a nice short shot to Overeem's temple.

Alessio fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Overeem sprawls well initially but Alessio persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Overeem sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Overeem is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alessio pulls his head out easily.

Let's hope that Alessio has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
