Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Another Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Another Guy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas cracks Guy with a good jab.
Thomas shoots in looking for a takedown but Guy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thomas's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Guy appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Thomas tries a head kick but it misses.
Guy stuffs the takedown.
Guy lands with a thumping leg kick.
Guy takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Thomas misses with a takedown attempt
and Guy counters with a good low kick that Thomas was not able to check.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thomas fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sam Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Guy lands a head kick. Thomas smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Guy looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Guy misses with a head kick.

Guy throws an overhand right that lands on Thomas's shoulder, as Thomas tries to avoid the shot.
Guy misses with a leg kick

and Thomas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Guy won't be happy with that.
Guy is looking to regain half guard here but Thomas keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guy stops Thomas from passing to mount.
You can see the frustration on Guy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Thomas wants to control but Guy is keeping him busy.

Guy is looking for a sweep.
Guy trying to control but Thomas flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
A lull in the action here.

Thomas has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Guy! Can he survive? No! He's out! Thomas gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
