PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luke Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Crocker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crocker has chosen Britney Spears - Gimme More as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Chris Crocker was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Crocker!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Anderson!
The fight stays on the outside here - Anderson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Anderson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Crocker tries to avoid it but Anderson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Crocker to the ground. Crocker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Anderson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Anderson misses with a few strikes there.
Anderson throws a series of punches but Crocker avoids them all with ease.
Anderson shoots in for a double leg but Crocker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Anderson's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Anderson duly obliges.

Crocker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Anderson is pushing Crocker's head away, looking to escape. Crocker manages to hold on to the position though.

Anderson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Crocker can do anything to dispel that myth.
Anderson wants to control from the top but Crocker keeps moving.

Anderson is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Anderson wants to control but Crocker is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anderson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Anderson loads up on a big right hand but Crocker slips the punch.

Crocker drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Crocker is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Anderson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Crocker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Anderson smiles and moves away.
Luke Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Crocker.

and Crocker counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Anderson's guard now.
Anderson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Anderson is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Anderson is working for a submission of some sort.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Chris Crocker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Anderson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Crocker's guard.
Anderson is pushing down on Crocker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Crocker is fighting to maintain full guard but Anderson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Crocker is refusing to be controlled, as Anderson sits in half guard.
Crocker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Anderson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Crocker is looking for a sweep. Anderson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Anderson is tying to control. Crocker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Anderson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Anderson wants to take a breather but Crocker is having none of it.

Anderson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Crocker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Crocker wants to pass the guard but Anderson is keeping the position.

Anderson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Crocker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Crocker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Anderson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Crocker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Anderson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Crocker is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Anderson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Crocker's back instead.
Crocker trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Anderson lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Anderson connects with a big shot to the side of Crocker's head.
Crocker is keeping busy.
Anderson slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
