The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tall throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Powell seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Powell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tall lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Powell dives in and grabs Tall's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tall pushes down on Powell's head and hops out.

Powell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tall tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Powell is in Tall's guard.

Tall is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Powell asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Tall is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Powell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Powell dodges the punch combination from Tall.
Powell tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Tall manages to circle out of the way.

Powell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Powell showed some decent athleticism there.

Tall manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Powell keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Powell has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Tall clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
