PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Orion Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Wilkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilkins has chosen Sans Pression - Numero 1 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jay Wilkins was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orion Cook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 44 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Wilkins!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Wilkins.
Cook fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wilkins manages to avoid it.

Wilkins has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Cook is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Wilkins stalks Cook and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cook's face. Cook staggers backwards, shaken.
Wilkins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Cook gets tackled into the cage by Wilkins. Wilkins maintains the clinch.

Wilkins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Cook tries to sprawl but Wilkins drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Wilkins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cook with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Wilkins lands a big elbow and you can see that really hurt Cook! Wilkins senses the opportunity and scores with more strikes - he's put Cook out! The ref tackles him out of the way to prevent him landing more strikes - this one is all over!
