Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Percy Nolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joel Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Percy Nolan has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Percy Nolan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joel Castro!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Ben Hemmingworth and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Castro.
Horrible takedown attempt by Castro or perhaps it was just good defense by Nolan, which made it look bad.

Castro clinches.

Castro successfully pulls guard.
Nolan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Castro controls Nolan momentarily but Nolan frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Castro will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Castro should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Nolan wants to get up but he can't break Castro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Nolan distracts Castro with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Castro pulls Nolan in close to his closed guard and prevents Nolan from doing any damage or advancing position.

Nolan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Castro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nolan has managed to get both his arms back between Castro's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Castro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nolan's waist but Nolan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Castro off to one side.

Castro tries to clinch but Nolan moves out of range.
Nolan uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Castro has time to react.
Castro moves in looking to clinch but Nolan pushes him off.
Nolan tries to counter by clinching up but Castro breaks away and moves out of range.

Castro throws a sloppy head kick and Nolan moves out of range easily.

Castro shoots in for a double leg but Nolan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Castro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nolan sprawls well. Nolan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Castro gets slowly back to his feet.

Nolan moves into range and clinches up with Castro.

Castro has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Nolan after a bit of a struggle.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Castro shoots in but Nolan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nolan is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Castro walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
