Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kallew Brito! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josh Reynolds! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reynolds lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Kallew Brito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reynolds avoids the head kick by Brito.
Brito pushes Reynolds up against the cage in a clinch. Reynolds missing with knees to the body.
Reynolds is pushing Brito up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Brito breaks the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Brito. Reynolds steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Brito. Reynolds swats away the attempt to clinch by Brito. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reynolds gets caught flat footed, as Brito shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Brito is looking to work some ground and pound but Reynolds has wrist control. Brito pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reynolds is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reynolds is controlling Brito's posture. Brito landing some decent shots from guard. Brito postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Reynolds pushes Brito off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Brito tries to close the distance and clinch but Reynolds swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Brito misses with a takedown attempt - Reynolds sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Brito throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. A head kick misses from Reynolds. A head kick misses from Reynolds. Brito shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Brito is looking to stall here but Reynolds recovers full guard. Brito trying to control the position from guard on top but Reynolds is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brito trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Reynolds trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Brito looking to pass the guard. Brito got a little sloppy there for a moment and Reynolds has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brito has managed to get both his arms back between Reynolds's legs - danger averted. Reynolds is looking for a triangle but Brito pushes his legs off easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Reynolds keeping moving, preventing Brito from controlling successfully.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Reynolds throws a head kick that misses. Reynolds tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Reynolds keeps Brito at a distance using the push kick. A good leg kick by Reynolds. Reynolds dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Brito. That did some damage! Reynolds misses with a head kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reynolds stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kallew Brito. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reynolds looks for the body kick but Brito saw that one coming. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Reynolds dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Brito tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Reynolds throws a fast counter high kick but Brito manages to duck under it in time. Brito takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Brito shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Reynolds sprawls well. Reynolds wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brito gets slowly back to his feet. Brito misses with a body kick. Brito throws a low kick but Reynolds avoids it. Reynolds scores with a head kick.
Brito tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Reynolds has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. and Reynolds counters with a stiff right hand. Reynolds throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's one minute gone in the round. That kick from Reynolds tenderised Brito's leg. Brito is trying to keep his angry face on. Reynolds shoots in for a takedown but Brito shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Reynolds shoots in and gets a takedown into Brito's guard. Reynolds is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Brito working a defensive guard but Reynolds manages to pass into side control anyway.
Reynolds controls the position. Brito can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Reynolds politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Reynolds prefers to stall for the moment though. Brito is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Reynolds is controlling him well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Reynolds takes a little break here. Brito wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Let's hope that Reynolds has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Brito is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brito tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Brito tries to reverse the position but Reynolds maintains control. Brito slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Brito looking for submissions off his back. Brito blocking the ground and pound attempt from Reynolds.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Reynolds seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Reynolds is working for a kimura but Brito is defending it quite comfortably.
Reynolds is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brito fails with the takedown and Reynolds counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Brito is lucky that one didn't land flush. Kallew Brito is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Brito throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reynolds's waist but Reynolds gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brito off to one side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Reynolds showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reynolds scores a nice knee to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reynolds using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Brito has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Brito jumps guard but Reynolds turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Reynolds has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Brito after a bit of a struggle. Kallew Brito has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Josh Reynolds is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Reynolds with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Josh Reynolds comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Reynolds has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
