Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Monk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos DiSoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos DiSoto will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, The Monk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos DiSoto!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DiSoto lands a head shot.
Monk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has DiSoto pinned against the cage. DiSoto gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Carlos DiSoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circle momentarily. DiSoto darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
DiSoto just misses with a punch to the body.
Monk feinted with a counter takedown.

DiSoto tries to sprawl but Monk drives through with a takedown into half guard.
DiSoto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
DiSoto is trying to stand up here but Monk is controlling him well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
DiSoto is trying to maintain the position but Monk is very close to passing his half guard.
Monk perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Monk decides to stand up.

Monk shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches DiSoto napping and manages to drive through into side control!
You can see the frustration on DiSoto's face as Monk controls the position.
Monk has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes there by Monk.
DiSoto is trying to improve his position.
DiSoto is trying to control Monk's posture but Monk avoids it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Monk controls the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Monk drives through and clinches with DiSoto against the cage.
Monk looking for a takedown.
DiSoto tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Monk's elbow.
Monk really is a fat lump.
Monk tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. DiSoto smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Monk. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
DiSoto lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
DiSoto stalks Monk and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Monk's face. Monk staggers backwards, shaken.
DiSoto's corner calls for a 1-2. DiSoto obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
DiSoto lands a slapping body shot.
DiSoto cracks Monk with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Monk is breathing heavily.
Monk shoots in for a takedown but DiSoto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Monk takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
DiSoto jabs Monk right on the nose. Monk blinks but takes it well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A bone on bone clash there as Monk blocks the leg kick.
DiSoto cracks Monk with a good jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Monk moves out of range of the body kick from DiSoto.

DiSoto moves into the clinch.
A short left from DiSoto.
DiSoto lands a right hand.
A short left from DiSoto.
DiSoto scores with an uppercut up the middle.
DiSoto working some nice short punches in the clinch.
DiSoto has Monk pressed against the cage, preventing Monk from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Monk's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

A nice left hand lands by DiSoto.
A shot in the inside from DiSoto.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos DiSoto dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Monk gets cracked there but stands up to it.

DiSoto feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Monk sprawling to the canvas! Monk rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can DiSoto finish him?!


Monk is rocked!
DiSoto drops Monk with a big left hand! Monk is injured, injured bad! DiSoto jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos DiSoto!
