Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Hayden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janusz Pikulski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramon Hayden has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ramon Hayden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Janusz Pikulski!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pikulski closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hayden circles away.
Pikulski shoots in for a double leg but Hayden sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pikulski misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hayden.

and Hayden holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ramon Hayden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Janusz Pikulski.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hayden postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hayden stands and steps away. Pikulski gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Pikulski manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hayden manages to get himself to full guard.

Hayden is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hayden will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Pikulski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hayden is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pikulski defends well.

Pikulski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hayden wants to sweep here but Pikulski controlling him for the moment.
Pikulski looking to sit in guard and control but Hayden gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Pikulski wants to hit a switch here but Hayden passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Pikulski there!

Pikulski sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Pikulski is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hayden stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Pikulski moves into the clinch successfully.
Hayden tries to pull guard but Pikulski forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Pikulski drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hayden gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee calls for Pikulski to work.

Pikulski jumps guard and drags Hayden to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Hayden content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Pikulski looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hayden keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pikulski's head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hayden thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hayden postures up in Pikulski's guard and throws a big left but Pikulski blocks it.

Hayden drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pikulski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hayden has Pikulski in his guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Hayden rushes Pikulski and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Pikulski manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Pikulski throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Pikulski wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Hayden stands up over Pikulski, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Pikulski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hayden gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hayden makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Pikulski wants to stand up but Hayden is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pikulski is trying to keep Hayden in close.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hayden lands a couple of elbows.
Hayden loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hayden throws an elbow that misses. Pikulski uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hayden's guard. Nice move by Pikulski!

Hayden is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pikulski can do to turn this around?
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hayden is on top in guard.

Hayden has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hayden's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hayden forces his way into half guard.
Hayden is nestled in close to Pikulski, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hayden seems to be working for a kimura but Pikulski defends the submission attempt.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hayden connects with a nice short shot to Pikulski's temple.

Hayden takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Hayden is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pikulski has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hayden working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Ramon Hayden overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hayden wants to take a breather but Pikulski is having none of it.

Pikulski shoots for a double leg takedown but Hayden sprawls well. He's pushed Pikulski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hayden lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Pikulski is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hayden scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Hayden postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Pikulski to stand up.

Pikulski clinches up with Hayden and pushes him back against the cage.
Pikulski digs a right hand underneath Hayden's ribcage. Hayden let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Hayden has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Ramon Hayden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Janusz Pikulski.
Pikulski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hayden gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Pikulski regains guard.

Pikulski manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

and Hayden counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Pikulski!

Pikulski darts in looking for a takedown but Hayden gets double underhooks and turns Pikulski into the cage.
