Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Fertus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Ames (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fertus has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Fertus misses its intended target.
Fertus is breathing heavily.

Ames clinches up against the cage.
Fertus working hard to break the clinch.
Ames wants to break the clinch but can't.

Ames breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ames misses with a looping left.
Fertus throwing a counter right hand but Ames manages to avoid it.
Fertus uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ames.
Ames tries to land a front kick but Fertus steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Nice cross by Ames.
Fertus takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ames throws a lazy body kick
and Fertus cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ames thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ames looks for a takedown but Fertus sprawls well.

Ames steps into range and cracks Fertus with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Fertus flops backwards and Ames dives into his guard looking to finish!

Fertus is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ames gets to his feet. Fertus looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Oh Fertus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mike Fertus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ames darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Fertus's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Ames before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
