Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Shepherd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rembrandt Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Ben Hemmingworth and Darius Henderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shepherd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schmidt as he jumps to the side.
Schmidt looks to land a combination but Shepherd avoids it well.
Shepherd throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schmidt's waist but Schmidt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shepherd off to one side.
A little jabbing left from Schmidt on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Jack Shepherd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shepherd is trying hard to land a takedown here. Schmidt sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Shepherd. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No joy there for Schmidt, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Schmidt is looking to clinch but Shepherd is avoiding it.
Shepherd looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Schmidt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shepherd moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Shepherd shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schmidt dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Schmidt lands a left and a right that send Shepherd crashing to the mat, dazed. Schmidt thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shepherd tries for a takedown but Schmidt sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Oh Shepherd is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Schmidt throws a nice looking combination but Shepherd bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Schmidt throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Shepherd tries to counter with a takedown but Schmidt is quick to defend against it.
Shepherd seems to have got his legs back now.

and Schmidt counters with a crisp right hand that drops Shepherd! Schmidt lets Shepherd back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Schmidt fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Shepherd is breathing heavily.
Shepherd avoids a punch combination nicely.
Shepherd takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Schmidt enables Shepherd to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Schmidt manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Schmidt manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shepherd gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Schmidt wants to get back to his feet but Shepherd is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Shepherd drops back, looking for a kneebar! Schmidt looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Schmidt looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Schmidt!

Shepherd tries to buck Schmidt off but Schmidt is having none of it.
Schmidt wants to stand but Shepherd has his arm trapped.

Schmidt decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Schmidt lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Schmidt.
Shepherd looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

and Schmidt counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Shepherd! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
