Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kerry Pierce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bull Marklin!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierce fails in his attempt to clinch.
Marklin is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Marklin shoots in for a takedown but Pierce shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Marklin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Pierce sprawling to the canvas! Pierce rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Marklin finish him?!
Pierce is rocked!
It looks like Kerry Pierce has been cut.
Marklin cracks Pierce's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Pierce slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Marklin can do further damage! This one is done, son!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bull Marklin!
