Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Louis Beard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roberts has chosen 100 Black Coffins- Rick Ross as his entrance music. Louis Beard has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beard gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Beard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Beard pulls Roberts into guard.

Beard wants to get up but he can't break Roberts's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Beard stands and steps away. Roberts gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Beard has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Roberts regains guard immediately.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Beard fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Roberts to the ground. Beard is now in Roberts's guard.

Roberts drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Beard dives on top into guard.

Beard is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Roberts is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Roberts has escaped and now he's on top!

That's time! Beard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Beard drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Beard is looking to take a break and control but Roberts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Beard is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Roberts is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Beard tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beard has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Roberts tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Beard looking to sit in guard and control but Roberts gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Roberts's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Roberts passes Beard's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Beard is looking for a sweep. Roberts is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Roberts is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Roberts is keen to just control but Beard is a slippery customer.
Beard won't allow Roberts to pass to mount.
Roberts looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Beard with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Roberts is looking for a kimura but Beard is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Roberts to get the leverage.

Roberts postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Beard is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Roberts, into his guard.

Beard is looking to stand up but Roberts won't let him.

Roberts drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Roberts jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
