Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frito Lei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 122 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frito Lei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Jones!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lei throws a series of strikes that have Jones backpedaling.

It looks like Jason Jones has been cut.
Lei looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Lei on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Frito Lei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Jones scores with a body shot.

Jones clinches up against the cage.
Jones putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Lei in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Lei tries to throw a body punch but Jones avoids it by throwing Lei back against the cage.
Jones goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Lei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jones works Lei's body with a nice hook.
Lei has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Open Mat's in the buildup to the fight.
Jones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lei defends well and Jones ends up having to push Lei into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jones misses with the combination.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Lei pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lei darts in and clinches Jones up against the cage.
Jones takes an elbow to the temple.

Lei breaks the clinch.
Lei defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jones.

Lei takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Jones throws a sloppy head kick
and Lei counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Jones lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Some wild striking there from Jones.
It looked like Lei was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Lei has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jones.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jones uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Lei has time to react.
Lei walks into a straight right hand from Jones.
Frito Lei is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Lei pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Lei lands a shoulder strike.

Lei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jones misses with a wild body shot.
Jones lands with a kick to the ribs.

Lei has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Lei.
Jones is trying to break free.
Jones can't break the clinch.
Lei lands an elbow inside.

Jones is trying to break the clinch but Lei has him pressed against the cage.
Lei's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Jones.

Lei breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Lei shows good takedown defense.
Frito Lei has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Jones.
Lei blocks a head kick by Jones.
Lei cracks Jones with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Lei takes the fight into the clinch.

Lei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lei throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A combination from Jones does no damage.
Jones looks to land a combination. Lei sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Lei moves out of range as Jones throws a body kick.
Jones takes a kick to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lei.

Lei moves into the clinch.

Lei's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jones shoots in but Lei avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lei darts in and clinches Jones up against the cage.
Jones tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Frito Lei will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Jason Jones's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Lei has managed to clinch.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lei throws a looping overhand right but Jones ducks down to avoid it.
Jones blocks a low kick nicely.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lei fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lei doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lei looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jones throws a right hand that Lei ducks under and follows up with a left that Lei also avoids with ease.
Jones is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Lei rather than just go for the knockout.
Jones stalks Lei and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lei's face. Lei staggers backwards, shaken.
Lei buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Lei forces Jones back against the cage and clinches.
Jones is trying to push Lei away but Lei has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lei stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones tries to break free but Lei pushes him back against the cage.

Lei lands a left hand.
Jones can't break the clinch.
Lei comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Jones is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Lei is keeping busy.
Jones misses with a punch on the inside.
Jones taking a breather.
Jones struggles to land a body shot inside as Lei controls his hands.
Jones tries to circle away but Lei has him pinned against the cage.
Lei comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

That has opened up Jason Jones's cut even more.
Jones wants to get back to striking at distance but Lei won't allow it.

Lei escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Lei counters with a crisp one two that drops Jones! Lei thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Jones to his feet! Jones is in big trouble!

Jones is rocked!
Jones looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Lei finish him?

Jones gets tackled into the cage by Lei. Lei maintains the clinch.
Lei lands a body punch in the clinch.

Lei's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones wants to stay close but Lei steps back to make room for something. Jones seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Lei and Jones drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
