The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day throws a right and a left that Svensson avoids nicely.
Day throws a nice looking combination but Svensson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Day throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Svensson is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Day misses with a series of wild punches.
Svensson tries to keep at a distance but Day has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Day throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Day scores with a shot to the side of Svensson's head.
Svensson successfully pulls guard.
Day got a little sloppy there for a moment and Svensson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Day has managed to get both his arms back between Svensson's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Svensson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Day throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Svensson's body to avoid the submission. Svensson has instead reached around Day's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Svensson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
