PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elden Pitts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neal Yoda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoda throws a half hearted mid kick.
Pitts defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yoda.
Pitts throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Yoda tries to land a leg kick but Pitts saw it coming and moves away.
Yoda misses with a head kick.
It looked like Pitts wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Yoda tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pitts just stands there and leans against the cage.

Pitts breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pitts misses with a head kick.
Pitts scores with a head kick. Yoda tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Pitts drives through and clinches with Yoda against the cage.
Pitts could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Yoda is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

It looks like Elden Pitts has been cut.
Yoda shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pitts as he jumps to the side.
Elden Pitts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Neal Yoda.
Yoda fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Yoda throws the left hand but Pitts avoids the punch easily.

Yoda closes the distance and clinches.
Pitts is pressed up against the cage. Yoda has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pitts down to the mat. Pitts avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Pitts feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pitts has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Yoda not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Yoda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pitts. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Yoda is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pitts scores with a couple of nice shots.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yoda tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

That's time! Pitts's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Yoda shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pitts but Pitts pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Pitts throws a series of punches but Yoda moves out of range.
Pitts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Pitts takes the fight into the clinch.
Pitts is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Yoda gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Yoda looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yoda has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pitts uses from the top position.
Yoda wants to control the position but Pitts says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Oooooh, big shot lands for Pitts! Yoda is hurt baaadly! Pitts is firing away with more strikes - Yoda is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
