Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zane Rutledge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve McAdams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Zane Rutledge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve McAdams!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McAdams gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Rutledge escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

McAdams darts in and clinches Rutledge up against the cage.
McAdams goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rutledge prevents it.

Rutledge breaks from the clinch.
McAdams dives in for a single leg takedown but Rutledge sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
McAdams closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rutledge circles away.
Zane Rutledge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve McAdams.

Rutledge seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

McAdams gets a takedown into half guard.

McAdams is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rutledge doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McAdams.
McAdams is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Rutledge really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rutledge is looking to improve his position.
Rutledge keeping hold of McAdams's head, controlling as best he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

McAdams is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rutledge knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McAdams on the ground.
Rutledge trying to hold on to McAdams's head to control him but McAdams postures up.
Rutledge is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McAdams is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

McAdams tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
McAdams with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

McAdams shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McAdams showed some decent athleticism there.
McAdams trying to mount his opponent but Rutledge defends it.

McAdams takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
McAdams is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Rutledge blocking the ground and pound attempt from McAdams.
Still in half guard, McAdams seems content to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



McAdams drives through with a takedown into Rutledge's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Rutledge trying to keep a closed guard but McAdams is proving a slippery customer.
McAdams wants to get up but he can't break Rutledge's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
McAdams controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rutledge utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

McAdams postures up and lands a big shot to Rutledge's brow.
McAdams pushing down on Rutledge's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Still in half guard, McAdams seems content to control.
McAdams's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

McAdams is trying for a kimura here. Rutledge looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! McAdams wins by kimura!
