Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sandolem Artz!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Artz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Artz showed some decent athleticism there.
Mccray is pressing down on Artz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mccray has Artz pulled in close to control his posture.
Mccray wants to sweep but no luck.

Artz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mccray looking to hit a scissor sweep but Artz is one step ahead there.
Mccray could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Mccray gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Mccray tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Mccray holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Mccray might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Artz is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Mccray wants to control but Artz is keeping busy.
Mccray is staying active underneath Artz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Artz has picked Mccray up - he's going for a ride! Artz dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Artz is working an open guard so Mccray takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Mccray has clasped his hands together around Artz's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Mccray is staying tight to Artz's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Artz gets tackled into the cage by Mccray. Mccray maintains the clinch.

Mccray pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mccray holds on and takes a little breather.
Mccray's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Artz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Mccray clinches with his opponent.
Mccray is trying to push Artz away but Artz has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Artz manages to pull guard.
Artz wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Mccray manages to pass to side control.

Artz wants to get back to full guard but Mccray has passed into side control.
Mccray is putting a hurting on Artz here, landing some big shots from side control.

Mccray decides to stand back up. Mccray steps back and let's Artz get back to his feet.
Artz lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Artz throws a good cross that connects.
Artz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mccray moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Mccray tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Artz was well out of range. Poor timing from Mccray.

Artz instigates a clinch.
Artz tries to break the clinch but Mccray is controlling the position.

Mccray has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Artz is trying to keep an underhook but Mccray manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Artz wants to stand back up but Mccray manages to pass into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mccray decides to stand back up. Mccray steps back and let's Artz get back to his feet.
Mccray has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Artz is breathing heavily.

Mccray gets a clinch.

Artz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Artz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Mccray wants to control but Artz postures up.

A close second round but Sandolem Artz will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Mccray is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Artz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Artz's back!
Mccray just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mccray controlling well, preventing Artz from escaping the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Artz is trying to break free.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
