The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahone motions for Barrera to come forward. Mahone throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Barrera throws a counter high kick but Mahone was just alert enough to avoid it.
Austin Mahone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barrera shoots in for a double leg but Mahone sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Mahone clinches up with Barrera and pushes him back against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mahone scores with a one two! Barrera had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Barrera takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Mahone is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Barrera rather than just go for the knockout.

Mahone feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Barrera sprawling to the canvas! Barrera rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mahone finish him?!

Barrera is rocked!
Mahone finds Barrera's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Barrera flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Mahone lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Barrera will be OK.

A less than humble Austin Mahone misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
