PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darren Towler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black has chosen Zach's Song as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Darren Towler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Black!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black looks to score with a jab to the body but Towler is just out of range.
Black takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Black misses with a straight left.
Towler seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Towler keeps the fight on the outside.
Black pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Towler back to the cage. Black follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Darren Towler has been cut.

Towler shoots in and gets a takedown into Black's guard.
Towler lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Towler won't allow Black to get back to his feet.
Towler not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Towler will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Towler passes Black's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Well, if Towler is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Black tries to roll over but Towler keeps him under control.
Black should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Black has hold of Towler's hands but Towler slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Black is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Towler passes to full mount!
Towler controlling the pace for now.
Black is desperately trying to improve his position but Towler has a good base and remains in mount.

Towler is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Black can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Towler jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Black manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Towler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Towler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Towler tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Black is letting Towler control him for a moment.
Towler advances nicely into full mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Black is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Black misses the shot to the body.

Towler looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Black scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Towler manages to mount him!

Black reaches up to try and control the position but Towler seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Black rolls and tries to escape and now Towler has his back!

Towler is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Black is tapping out! This one is all over!
