PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Filippo Dallara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zephaniah Judah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Filippo Dallara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zephaniah Judah!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, David Schapiro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Judah cracks a nice hook into Dallara's ribs.
Judah ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dallara moves away.
Dallara attempts a counter takedown but Judah avoids it well and moves away.
Judah swings for the body but Dallara moves out of range.
Judah lands the left hand.
Judah scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Dallara drops his hands momentarily and Judah takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Judah jabs Dallara to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Dallara doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Judah feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dallaras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Judah lands a slapping body shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dallara misses with a left hand
and Judah counters with a left to the body.
Judah lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dallara at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Judah uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Dallara takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Dallara feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dallara sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Judah's guard.

Judah won't allow Dallara to pass to mount.

Judah looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Dallara is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Judah reverses the position - he's now on top in Dallara's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dallara is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Judah really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dallara. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Judah got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dallara has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Judah has managed to get both his arms back between Dallara's legs - danger averted.

Dallara is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Judah defends well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dallara has his foot on Judah's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Judah works his way back into a safe position though.

Dallara is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Judah has his hands clasped together but Dallara extends and breaks Judah's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Dallara.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Filippo Dallara!
