The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones has a takedown stuffed.
Nelson fails with a takedown attempt.
Nelson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Nelson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nelson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nelson somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Nelson tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nelson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Haywood Nelson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timmy Jones.

Jones attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.

Jones gets caught napping as Nelson dives in and scores a takedown. Jones manages to retain guard.
Nelson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Jones doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jones controls Nelson momentarily but Nelson frees himself.

Nelson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Nelson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jones shoots in and drives through. Nelson sprawls well.

Nelson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jones tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
