The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hobbs misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hobbs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. The Scott sprawls well initially but Hobbs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hobbs wants to stand but The Scott has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Hobbs prevents The Scott from standing back up.
Hobbs is stalling here. The Scott is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hobbs seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and The Scott has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The Scott decides to stand and escape the position.
The Scott looks to land a right hand but Hobbs moved out of range.
The Scott thows a left - swing and a miss!
The Scott throws a jab but it's blocked by Hobbs.

The Scott gets caught flat footed, as Hobbs shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hobbs slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Hobbs decides to stand up, so the ref orders The Scott to his feet.
The Scott tries to clinch up but Hobbs circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The Scott misses with an uppercut. Hobbs saw that one coming.

Hobbs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hobbs decides to return to a standing position.

Hobbs closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hobbs has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. The Scott is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hobbs shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
