PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Manning (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that John Manning has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John Manning seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Collins!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Collins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Collins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Collins wants to finish this one by submission but Manning is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Collins.
Manning really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Collins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Collins unloads with some shots from mount but Manning bucks and avoids them well.

Collins is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Manning has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Manning!

Manning is bucking up trying to escape but Collins cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Collins throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Manning works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Collins in particular looking to stall.
Collins thows a huge punch but Manning dodges it nicely.

You get the feeling that Manning really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Collins pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Collins is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Manning can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Collins is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Collins can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Manning is looking to escape.

Tim Collins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Manning's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Collins feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Collins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Manning is just riding it out for now. Collins eventually gives up the hold.
Manning has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Collins is working away from the top position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tim Collins comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Collins has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
