Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hector Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Promos Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Promos Jr looking to score a takedown here. Torres is defending well but Promos Jr drives through and ends up in Torres's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Torres is on top in guard.

Torres slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Torres wants to stand but Promos Jr is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Promos Jr has closed the distance and engaged Torres in a clinch.

Promos Jr is pressed up against the cage. Torres has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Promos Jr down to the mat. Promos Jr avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Torres is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Promos Jr pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Promos Jr lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Torres lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

It looks like Mark Promos Jr has been cut.

Promos Jr gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Torres pushes Promos Jr off looking to stand but Promos Jr dives back in and keeps control.

That's time! Torres's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Promos Jr goes for a double leg but Torres avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Torres continues to drive forward.
Torres could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Promos Jr misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Torres lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

and Promos Jr counters with a left and a right that stings Torres.
Torres takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Mark Promos Jr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Horrible takedown attempt by Promos Jr or perhaps it was just good defense by Torres, which made it look bad.

Promos Jr changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Torres tries to avoid it but Promos Jr manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Torres to the ground. Torres escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Promos Jr. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Torres is taking a breather. Promos Jr says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Promos Jr has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Torres is working away from the top position though.

Torres gets caught napping as Promos Jr dives in and scores a takedown. Torres manages to retain guard.

Torres had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Promos Jr defends it easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Promos Jr unleashes a big counter combination but Torres bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hector Torres.
