The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hairsten fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sonnen, pushing him back against the cage.
Hairsten gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sonnen.
Hairsten lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Chael Sonnen has been cut.
Hairsten lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Hairsten's coach down at Highland CT & Spar was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hairsten's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hairsten lands an elbow inside.
Hairsten lands a body punch in the clinch.
Hairsten's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hairsten circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Sonnen drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Hairsten follows Sonnen to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
