PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack McVain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tuna Haans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tuna Haans told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack McVain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tuna Haans!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McVain fails with an attempt to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A nice left hand lands by Haans.
McVain misses with some punches.
Haans lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Haans working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Haans.
Haans lands a left hand that snaps the head of McVain backwards.
McVain blocks a body shot from Haans.
Haans keeps the fight in the clinch, despite McVain's efforts to push away.
McVain tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

McVain drags the fight down to the ground.
Haans is stalling in the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Haans won't allow McVain to get back to his feet.
Haans controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Haans postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Haans prevents McVain from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Haans looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McVain tries for a takedown but Haans sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Haans forces McVain back against the cage and clinches.
Haans lands a hook to the side of the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Haans creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Haans works on McVain's body with a couple of short punches.
A short uppercut from Haans.
Haans lands with a short head shot on the inside.


McVain is rocked!
Haans creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends McVain's eyes rolling into the back of his head! McVain drops to his knees and Haans pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tuna Haans!
Tuna Haans decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
