Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Baldur Draupnir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rustam Khabilov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khabilov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rihanna Bitch Better Have My Money. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khabilov avoids the head kick by Draupnir.
Khabilov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Khabilov drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Draupnir defends it well.
Khabilov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Draupnir sprawls well. Draupnir wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Khabilov gets slowly back to his feet.
Khabilov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Draupnir gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Khabilov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Draupnir's guard.
Draupnir is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Khabilov dives into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Draupnir tries to improve position but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Draupnir has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Khabilov is working away from the top position though.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Khabilov working his ground and pound in the gym.
Khabilov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Draupnir keeps working.
Khabilov thows a huge punch but Draupnir dodges it nicely.
Draupnir is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Draupnir won't allow Khabilov to pass to mount.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Khabilov connects with a nice short shot to Draupnir's temple.
Baldur Draupnir's cut is getting worse.
Draupnir is staying active underneath Khabilov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Khabilov seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

so Khabilov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Draupnir has Khabilov pulled in close to control his posture.
Khabilov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Jeez, Baldur Draupnir's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Baldur Draupnir's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
