PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sun Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes to the cage accompanied by Made in China. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sun Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tony Stevenson !
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Lee looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lee fails to land with a series of punches.
Lee cracks Stevenson with an open hand slap.
Lee dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Stevenson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lee to score with a decent uppercut.
Stevenson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Lee misses with the combination.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stevenson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Stevenson drops his hands momentarily and Lee takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Lee with a nice cross.
Stevenson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lee swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lee rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Stevenson counters with a single leg into guard. Lee didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lee trying to keep a closed guard but Stevenson is proving a slippery customer.
Stevenson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Lee's head.
Stevenson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lee. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lee avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lee is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Stevenson has his hands clasped together but Lee extends and breaks Stevenson 's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Lee.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sun Lee!
A very excited looking Sun Lee rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
