Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rhys Duch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Codez Outlaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rhys Duch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Codez Outlaw!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duch looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Outlaw working for submissions but it's allowed Duch to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Outlaw trying to control but Duch postures up.
Outlaw wants to get back to his feet.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Duch in particular looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Outlaw is defending against the submission attempts here by Duch.

Duch content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Duch lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Outlaw is trying to control but can't.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Duch wants to pass to mount but Outlaw is defending the position.
Duch is taking a breather. Outlaw says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Duch trying to control from half guard but Outlaw is working away.

Duch is working for a submission of some sort.
Outlaw is trying to control but can't.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Outlaw is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Duch is trying hard to land a takedown here. Outlaw sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice sprawl there from Outlaw as Duch shoots in.
Duch is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Outlaw moves into range and clinches up with Duch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Outlaw tries to pull guard but Duch forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Outlaw accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Duch wants to sweep here but Outlaw controlling him for the moment.
Duch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Outlaw manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Duch advances position into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Duch keeps the fight on the outside.
Outlaw shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duch pinned against the cage. Duch gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Outlaw misses with a body kick.
Horrible takedown attempt by Duch or perhaps it was just good defense by Outlaw, which made it look bad.
And Outlaw tries to counter it with a takedown but Duch pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Duch shoots for a double leg takedown but Outlaw sprawls well. He's pushed Duch's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Outlaw changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Duch misses with a body kick.
Outlaw unleashes a big counter combination but Duch bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Duch is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Outlaw's half guard.

Outlaw makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Outlaw throws a series of punches but Duch moves out of range.
Duch tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Outlaw manages to circle out of the way.
Outlaw avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Duch shoots in for a takedown but Outlaw shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rhys Duch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Outlaw is looking to clinch but Duch is avoiding it.
Outlaw lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Duch at a distance.

Duch throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Outlaw tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Duch is in Outlaw's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Outlaw wants to get back to his feet but Duch is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Outlaw is looking for a triangle but Duch pushes his legs off easily.
Duch is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Duch throws a series of strikes that have Outlaw backpedaling.

Outlaw shoots in for a takedown but Duch shows good takedown defense.

Duch gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Duch pulls Outlaw into guard.
Outlaw wants to control from the top but Duch keeps moving.

Outlaw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Duch swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Duch controls Outlaw momentarily but Outlaw frees himself.
Duch lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Duch is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Outlaw is keeping busy.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Outlaw manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Duch is looking to take this one to the mat.
Duch has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Outlaw is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Outlaw looks for a takedown but Duch sprawls well.

Duch swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Duch trying to control the position from guard on top but Outlaw is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Duch connects with a couple of short punches.

Duch is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Outlaw can do to turn this around?

Outlaw isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Duch stacks Outlaw on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Duch!
A lull in the action here.
Duch cracks Outlaw with a big right hand but Outlaw just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Duch in side control lands a decent elbow.
Outlaw is working to avoid the ground and pound but Duch connects with a decent elbow.
Outlaw is looking to regain half guard here but Duch keeps moving and retains side control.
Duch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Duch cracks Outlaw with a big elbow.
Duch advances nicely into full mount.
Duch lands a nice shot to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Codez Outlaw has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
