Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Gallagher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shane Gallagher has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Gallagher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Austin!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallagher takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Gallagher shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Austin sprawls well. Austin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gallagher gets slowly back to his feet.

Austin has Gallagher up against the cage in a clinch.

Austin jumps into guard, dragging Gallagher to the mat.
Gallagher wants to stand but Austin is controlling his posture from full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gallagher gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Gallagher scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Austin wants to improve his position but Gallagher is controlling well.

Austin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gallagher pulls his head out easily.

Gallagher is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Austin sees it coming and defends easily.

Gallagher tries to stand but can't do so whilst Austin controls his leg.

Gallagher's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Austin really wants to buck Gallagher off and get back to his feet.
Gallagher takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Austin wants to control but Gallagher is having none of it.
Gallagher sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Further stalling from Gallagher.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gallagher avoids the attempt from Austin to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Gallagher closes the distance and clinches up with Austin, looking for a takedown. Gallagher pushes Austin against the cage but Austin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Austin wants to counter with a clinch but Gallagher pushes him away.

Austin moves into the clinch.
Austin tries to land knees in the clinch but Gallagher avoids the damage to the body.
Gallagher really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gallagher wants to take the fight to the mat but Austin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Austin is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Gallagher. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gallagher jumps guard but Austin stands there with Gallagher around his waist. Gallagher gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Austin wanted to stand there but Gallagher had control of the position.
Austin throws a big elbow that misses.
Austin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Austin wants to pass the guard but Gallagher is keeping the position.
Gallagher keeping moving, preventing Austin from controlling successfully.
Gallagher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gallagher pulls Austin in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Austin moves into range and clinches up with Gallagher.

Austin has hold of one of Gallagher's legs. Gallagher is fighting the takedown attempt but Austin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Gallagher manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Austin manages to get himself to full guard.

Gallagher is looking to stand up but Austin won't let him.

Austin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Gallagher passes into half guard.
Gallagher wants to stand but Austin has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Well, if Gallagher is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Adam Austin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Austin closes the distance and clinches.
Gallagher can't find room to land a body shot as Austin controls the action.

Austin turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Gallagher bucks up and tries to throw Austin off but instead Austin has got his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gallagher is trying to stand back up.
Gallagher is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Gallagher controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.

Austin is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Austin has the hooks in. Gallagher is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Gallagher is keeping busy.
Gallagher tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Gallagher's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Gallagher has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Austin is working away from the top position though.
Gallagher gets back to full guard.
Gallagher is pulling down on Austin's head. It's preventing any offense from Austin, at least for the moment.
Gallagher wants to get back to his feet but Austin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Gallagher throws a sloppy head kick and Austin moves out of range easily.
Austin is looking for the big counter here.
Gallagher tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Austin defends well and Gallagher ends up having to push Austin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Gallagher controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Austin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Gallagher manages to escape and get back to his feet!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Austin drives through and clinches with Gallagher against the cage.
Gallagher has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Austin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Austin jumps into guard, dragging Gallagher to the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Adam Austin.
I think Austin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
