Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wheeler drives through with a takedown into guard.

Chaney tries to score with some ground and pound. Wheeler controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Chaney looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wheeler with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Chaney lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Wheeler hold on?!
Wheeler is breathing heavily.

Chaney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Chaney is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Wheeler has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Chaney lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Wheeler is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Wheeler changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chaney looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Chaney throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wheeler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Chaney's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Chaney remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well Chaney has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
