Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lance Maroga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Pimpin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lance Maroga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Big Pimpin!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maroga tries to close the distance and clinch but Pimpin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Maroga fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pimpin avoids it really well and circles away.
Pimpin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Maroga.
Pimpin is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Maroga rushes Pimpin and presses him up against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Maroga manages to break the clinch.

We've been hearing reports that Maroga has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Pimpin is looking to control Maroga's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pimpin avoid being mounted?
Pimpin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Maroga's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Maroga's back!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Pimpin's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Pimpin is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Maroga defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Maroga is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Maroga is trying to get back to his feet but Pimpin has full control of the position and if anything, Maroga has just worked his way into a worse spot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Our spies down at at Rabid Dog inform us that Pimpin has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

That was a close round but I would say that Lance Maroga will probably get the nod.

Pimpin takes a little break here. Maroga wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Pimpin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Maroga wants to improve his position but Pimpin is controlling well.
Pimpin stops Maroga from getting back to his feet.
Pimpin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Big Pimpin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Maroga is trying to stand up here but Pimpin is controlling him well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Maroga moves into the clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Maroga breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Maroga throws a right and a left that both miss.
And Pimpin tries to counter it with a takedown but Maroga pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Maroga dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pimpin. That did some damage!
Maroga does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
No joy there for Maroga, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pimpin is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

and Pimpin counters with a shoot takedown. Maroga fights it but they end up in guard.
Pimpin pushes down on Maroga's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pimpin trying to control but Maroga is working from the bottom.
Pimpin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

A telegraphed right hand from Maroga misses the target.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Maroga closes the distance and pushes Pimpin back into the cage.
Pimpin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Maroga avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Pimpin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Maroga gets the underhooks and prevents it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Big Pimpin will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Pimpin on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Pimpin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Maroga tries to clinch but Pimpin is having none of it.
Maroga jabs Pimpin right on the nose. Pimpin blinks but takes it well.
Pimpin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Maroga walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Pimpin checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Lance Maroga is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Maroga clinches with his opponent.
Pimpin gets underhooks to prevent Maroga's takedown attempt.
Maroga wants to take the fight to the mat but Pimpin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

The referee is keeping an eye on Maroga - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Pimpin goes for a takedown attempt but Maroga pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Maroga tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pimpin was well out of range. Poor timing from Maroga.
Maroga tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pimpin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Maroga swings for the body but Pimpin moves out of range.
Maroga shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pimpin defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lance Maroga. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Pimpin.
Maroga is looking to counter the offense by Pimpin and move into the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fight stays on the outside here - Maroga looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Maroga shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Maroga looks to land a combination but Pimpin avoids it well.
Pimpin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Maroga throws out the jab.

Lance Maroga is winning the standup battle so far.
Pimpin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maroga tries to avoid it but Pimpin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maroga to the ground. Maroga escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Maroga. Pimpin does a little dance to reset his feet.

Maroga tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Pimpin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Maroga won't be happy with that.
Pimpin controls the position.
Maroga is looking to reverse the position.
Pimpin moves into full mount!
Maroga wants to hold on but Pimpin pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Maroga can't escape the position.
Pimpin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Maroga is looking to escape.
Pimpin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Maroga is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lance Maroga showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Maroga has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Lance Maroga spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
