Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dick Stern!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patrick Bateman!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bateman stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Stern.
Patrick Bateman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stern takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Stern looks to score with a jab to the body but Bateman is just out of range.
Bateman connects with the punch.
Stern misses with a straight left.
Stern scores with a crisp jab that stopped Bateman in his tracks.
Stern throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bateman sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bateman moves away from the strike by Stern.
Stern doesn't manage to clinch there - Bateman circles away.

Bateman feints and as Stern raises his hands in defense, Bateman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bateman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stern manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bateman has Stern in his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round but I would say that Dick Stern will probably get the nod.
That's time! Stern's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Stern utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bateman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stern swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Stern in particular looking to stall.

That kick from Stern tenderised Bateman's leg. Bateman is trying to keep his angry face on.
Stern takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bateman looks to land a combination but Stern avoids it well.
Stern scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bateman doesn't seem bothered though.
Stern cracks a nice hook into Bateman's ribs.

and Bateman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Stern throws a sloppy head kick and Bateman moves out of range easily.

A slapping leg kick lands for Stern.
Stern missing with a left hand there. Bateman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Stern cracks Bateman with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Bateman is still on wobbly legs! Can Stern finish him?
Stern pounces like a tiger and cracks Bateman with a vicious hook! Bateman is down but not out! Stern follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
