Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drew Fournier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nat Sherman!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fournier on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Fournier slaps away a takedown attempt from Sherman, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fournier shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sherman defends it nicely.
Sherman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fournier but Fournier pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Fournier leaves Sherman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Drew Fournier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nat Sherman.
Sherman lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Fournier at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sherman shoots in for a takedown but Fournier shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

As Sherman looks to move away, Fournier throws a big counter combo but Sherman just gets out of the way.

Sherman shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Fournier eats them both and turns towards Sherman to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Fournier shoots in for a takedown but Sherman shows good takedown defense.
Sherman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fournier stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Sherman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fournier wants to stand back up but Sherman manages to pass into side control.

Sherman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fournier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sherman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Fournier down.
You can see the frustration on Fournier's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Fournier is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sherman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
