Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Number Six!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson slips a jab and a cross from Six.
Six throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Six swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Six looks to land a combination. Johnson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Six lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnson circles away quickly and effectively.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Six sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Six connects with the punch.
Nice cross by Six.

Six gets a clinch.

Six manages to break the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Johnson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Six.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Six shows good takedown defense.
Six misses with a double jab.
Johnson appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Six circles away from the clinch attempt.
Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Six sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Number Six seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Six slips under a jab from Johnson.
Six lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Johnson moves into the clinch.
Six misses with a hook from the clinch.

Johnson manages to pull guard.
Johnson trying to control the position.
Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Six's guard.

Johnson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Johnson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Johnson gets to his feet. Six looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Six has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.
Six lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Six slaps away a takedown attempt from Johnson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Six swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Johnson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Number Six seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Johnson is looking to clinch but Six is avoiding it.

Johnson throws a series of punches but Six moves out of range.

and Six counters with a stiff right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

No joy there for Six, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Johnson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Six is breathing heavily.

Six throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely.

and Six counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Six shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Johnson as he avoids it easily.
Johnson looks to score with a jab to the body but Six is just out of range.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Johnson is looking to clinch but Six is avoiding it.
Johnson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
It looked like Johnson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Johnson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Six manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Six wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Johnson manages to pass to side control.

Johnson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Johnson is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Johnson extends the arm and Six is forced to tap!
