Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emmitt Woodward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Milan Rusija (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Emmitt Woodward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Milan Rusija!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Woodward misses
and Rusija counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rusija looks to land a left hand but Woodward moved out of range nicely.
Woodward lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Rusija looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rusija misses with a two punch combination.
Woodward walks into a left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rusija throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Woodward shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rusija manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Woodward drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Woodward jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rusija has control of Woodward's left arm, preventing Woodward from doing any damage.

Rusija pulls Woodward in close to his closed guard and prevents Woodward from doing any damage or advancing position.
Rusija trying to keep a closed guard but Woodward is proving a slippery customer.
Woodward will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rusija is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Woodward stops Rusija from standing up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Woodward shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rusija's guard.

Woodward drops back looking for a leg! Rusija is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rusija manages to kick Woodward off! Woodward jumps back into Rusija's guard.
Rusija is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Woodward really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Woodward drops back looking for a leg! Rusija is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rusija manages to kick Woodward off! Woodward jumps back into Rusija's guard.

Woodward got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rusija has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Woodward has managed to get both his arms back between Rusija's legs - danger averted.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Woodward drives through with a takedown into guard.
Woodward missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Rusija wants to get back to his feet but Woodward is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Milan Rusija will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rusija throws an overhand right that lands on Woodward's shoulder, as Woodward tries to avoid the shot.

Milan Rusija seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Woodward shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Woodward was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
You can see the frustration on Rusija's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rusija is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Woodward is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Woodward stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Rusija scores with a sloppy right hand. Woodward should have avoided that one.

Woodward scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Rusija tries to kick Woodward off in order to stand up. Woodward Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Woodward tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Rusija is trying to get back to his feet.
Rusija is breathing heavily.

Rusija looks to move to half guard but instead Woodward has passed into mount! Damn!
Rusija wants to control but Woodward is having none of it.

Rusija tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The referee warns Rusija that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rusija is looking to get to half guard.
Rusija looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.

Woodward has isolated one of Rusija's arms. Rusija looking to fight him off but Woodward twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
