Mencken's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Circle Jerks - Question Authority. McClain has chosen New Found Glory - Ready and Willing as his entrance music. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McClain swinging wildly here.
McClain tries to clinch there but Mencken circles away.
Mencken tries to bum rush McClain with a series of wild strikes but McClain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McClain has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Mencken is landing a low percentage of strikes.
HL Mencken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McClain misses with a few strikes there.
McClain swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McClain showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mencken.
As Mencken backs off McClain throws a huge counter combo but Mencken manages to avoid it all.
McClain ducks under a wild hook from Mencken.
McClain waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mencken.
McClain looks to score with a jab to the body but Mencken is just out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mencken misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

McClain throws a hook to the side of Mencken's head but Mencken sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

McClain takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
McClain takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Mencken throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McClain looks to land a combination but Mencken avoids it well.
Mencken went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
McClain swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mencken connects with a good right hand that stumbles McClain. McClain circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Mencken swings for the body but McClain moves out of range.
McClain moves forwards but Mencken connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Decent striking displayed by Mencken there.

Mencken doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

McClain with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Mencken to score with a decent uppercut.

McClain throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mencken lands a hook that stumbles McClain back into the cage. Mencken follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping McClain to the canvas! Mencken pounces and lands several unanswered shots - McClain has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
