PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diesel Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Hankey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hankey has chosen DJ Zany - Be on your way as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ted Hankey!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong throws a right and a left that Hankey avoids nicely.
Hankey walks into a stiff left hand from Armstrong.

and Armstrong counters with a straight right hand.
Armstrong connects with an inside leg kick.
Hankey swings widly with a right hand
and Armstrong counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hankey throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Armstrong counter with a right hand.
Hankey looks to throw the jab but Armstrong is out of range.

Armstrong cracks Hankey with an uppercut from hell and Hankey crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Armstrong's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Hankey is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Armstrong is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hankey is still in real trouble! Can Armstrong finish him?

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Armstrong accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Armstrong content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hankey pushes Armstrong off but Armstrong dives into side control.
Armstrong is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hankey will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Armstrong cracks Hankey with a big right hand but Hankey just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Hankey takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Armstrong looks up at the clock and then as Hankey takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Armstrong smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Hankey takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Armstrong lands a strong strike to the head of Hankey. That's dazed him! Armstrong looking to finish here. Hankey is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Armstrong lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

A pretty intense looking Diesel Armstrong took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
