The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masterson stuffs the takedown.

Masterson throws a right hand that Bravo ducks under and follows up with a left that Bravo also avoids with ease.

Masterson lands a nice shot that snaps Bravo's head back.
Masterson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Bravo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Masterson sprawls well initially but Bravo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bravo seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Masterson has recovered full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bravo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Masterson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bravo has Masterson in his guard.

Bravo throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Masterson escapes and throws Bravo's legs to the side, diving into side control!
