The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luzhin walks into a jab.
A left and a right from Del Rio both land. Nice combination.
Luzhin misses with a wild body shot.

and Luzhin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Luzhin.

Luzhin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Luzhin wants to pass the guard but Del Rio is keeping the position.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Luzhin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Del Rio looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Del Rio looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Del Rio!

Luzhin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Del Rio wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Luzhin wants to control but Del Rio postures up.
Del Rio wants to lay and pray for a moment but Luzhin keeps working.
Luzhin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Del Rio's best efforts.

Luzhin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Del Rio's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Del Rio's back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Luzhin slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Del Rio is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Luzhin gets his way!

Del Rio is having to fend off submission attempts from Luzhin, who is looking to sink in the choke. Luzhin doesn't have the hooks in though and Del Rio manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
