Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Joyce tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gon is in Joyce's guard.

Gon looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Gon slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Gon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Joyce keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gon content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Gon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Joyce is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gon controls the position.

Joyce stops Gon from passing to mount.
Gon has knee on belly and moves into mount.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Gon's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Gon goes for an armbar but Joyce turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Joyce.
Joyce working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gon's head.
Joyce throws a strike but Gon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Joyce bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gon's guard.
Joyce lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Joyce knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gon on the ground.
Joyce throws a sloppy strike and Gon has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Joyce is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Gon!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kwik Li Gon!
A relieved looking Kwik Li Gon thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
