Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Short (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carmito Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carmito Hernandez acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hernandez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hernandez drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Short tries to pull guard but Hernandez won't allow it.
Short fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Hernandez pulls guard successfully.

Short could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hernandez wants to sweep here but Short controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hernandez has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Short has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Short has Hernandez pressed against the cage, preventing Hernandez from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Hernandez stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Hernandez is trying to drag Short to the mat but Short just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Horrible takedown attempt by Hernandez or perhaps it was just good defense by Short, which made it look bad.
Hernandez shoots in but no luck this time.

David Short has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carmito Hernandez.
Hernandez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Short tries to avoid it but Hernandez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Short to the ground. Short escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hernandez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Short walks away with a smile on his face. Hernandez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hernandez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Short avoids it really well and circles away.
Hernandez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hernandez.

It looked like Short was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hernandez.

Short tries to pull guard but Hernandez won't allow it.

That was a close second round but I would say that David Short will probably get the nod.

Short throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hernandez was covering up waiting for the punch and Short finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Hernandez pushes Short off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Nice takedown defense from Short. No joy for Hernandez on that attempt.

Hernandez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Short's efforts to push away.

Short has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hernandez uses from the top position.
Short wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hernandez manages to pass to side control.
