Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Don Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Robert Desin!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wallace closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wallace lands in his opponent's guard.
Desin is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Wallace dives into side control.
Desin looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Desin defending against the ground and pound.
Wallace looking to control but instead Desin has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wallace connects with a nice short shot to Desin's temple.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wallace with the ground and pound but Desin uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Wallace loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Wallace postures up in Desin's guard and throws a big left but Desin blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wallace throws a big right hand that misses.
Wallace working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Wallace is looking to work some ground and pound but Desin has wrist control.
Wallace postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Wallace connects with a couple of short punches.
Wallace throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Desin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Wallace lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wallace is looking to work some ground and pound but Desin has wrist control.
Desin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Wallace thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Wallace shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wallace was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ground and pound from Wallace seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Wallace tries to score with some ground and pound. Desin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Wallace is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Desin looks calm but he's in trouble here. Wallace gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Desin is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Wallace lets go of the hold and Desin can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Don Wallace!
