Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Taka Yushihama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Avery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yushihama comes to the cage accompanied by The Samurai. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avery wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Yushihama misses with a takedown

and Avery holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Avery breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Yushihama shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Avery napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Avery is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Avery is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Yushihama is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Avery moves into full guard.
Yushihama won't allow Avery to get back to his feet.
Yushihama cracks Avery with a solid left hand.

Avery manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yushihama manages to get himself to full guard.

Yushihama isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Avery stacks Yushihama on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Avery!

Yushihama seems a little lost for a moment, as Avery dominates the positioning.
Yushihama wants to control but Avery postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yushihama is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Yushihama is not content to let Avery control the position.
Avery is working Yushihama over with some ground and pound from side control.

Avery has hold of Yushihama's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Yushihama tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Avery cranks the arm and Yushihama screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Yushihama, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
