Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elijah Spector!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jose Maia!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spector throws the kick towards the body but Maia avoids it.
Spector misses with an attempted mid kick.
Spector definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Spector plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Maia has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Maia fails with a takedown attempt.
Maia tries for a takedown but Spector circles away easily
and Spector finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Spector misses with a head kick.
Spector keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Spector working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Maia seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Elijah Spector will probably get the nod.

Maia misses with a takedown attempt - Spector sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Maia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spector as he jumps to the side.
Spector quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Spector tries to clinch there but Maia circles away.

Maia is pressing down on Spector's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Maia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Spector is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Spector is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Maia off and has taken his back!
Spector is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Maia has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Spector has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Maia taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Spector doesn't care though - he's delighted!
