Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jonghyun Park!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronnie Whiteford!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Park throws an off balance right hand

and Whiteford decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Park's guard.
Whiteford is standing up over Park. Park looks to escape but Whiteford dives into side control.

Park is trying to control Whiteford's posture but Whiteford avoids it.
Whiteford controls the position.
Whiteford really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Park. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Park is looking to reverse the position.
Whiteford controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Park takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Whiteford is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Park knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Whiteford is staying tight to Park's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Park is looking for a sweep.
Park is letting Whiteford control him for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Whiteford tries to advance to mount but Park denies him.

Whiteford working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Park tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
The referee warns Park that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Park is wriggling around trying to escape.
Whiteford landing strikes, looking to finish!
Whiteford controlling the pace for now.
Whiteford avoids the attempt from Park to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Park tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Whiteford looking to control and managing it successfully.
Park is squirming around, avoiding Whiteford's attempts to control the action.

Whiteford looking to secure an arm triangle but Park defends it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Park wants to hold on but Whiteford pushes him away.
Park bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Park trying to control the position from guard on top but Whiteford is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Park being controlled here momentarily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Park works over Whiteford with some ground and pound from guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Park enables Whiteford to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Park manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Whiteford is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Park has Whiteford pulled in close to control his posture.
Park looking to control.
Whiteford sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Ronnie Whiteford has got the better of the ground game so far.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Whiteford forces Park back against the cage and clinches.

Park gets to his feet - Whiteford follows without any prompting.

Whiteford takes the fight into the clinch.

Park decides to pull guard.
Park is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Whiteford is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Whiteford tries to stand but Park is controlling from the bottom.

Whiteford avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Park looking to control.
Park trying to strike off his back.
Whiteford postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Whiteford tries for a takedown but Park sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Park lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Whiteford looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Whiteford has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Horrible takedown attempt by Park or perhaps it was just good defense by Whiteford, which made it look bad.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Park wants to clinch up but Whiteford keeps it at a distance.

Whiteford clinches up with Park and pushes him back against the cage.

Whiteford manages to break the clinch.
Park misses with a takedown
and Whiteford connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Whiteford keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonghyun Park. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Whiteford lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Park can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Whiteford and Park drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Whiteford.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ronnie Whiteford!
Ronnie Whiteford spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
