PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lavern Koch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lavern Koch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Savage!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, David Schapiro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage scores with a hook to the body. Koch takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Savage lands a big head kick that sends Koch tumbling to the mat! Savage takes a step backwards and waves Koch back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Lavern Koch has been cut.
Savage throws a right and a left that both miss.
Koch is looking for a counter combo.

Savage closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Savage can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Savage tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Savage has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
You can see the frustration on Koch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Savage ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Savage no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Koch got a little sloppy there for a moment and Savage has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Koch has managed to get both his arms back between Savage's legs - danger averted.
Koch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lavern Koch has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jon Savage is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Savage has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
